One Mystery Revealed
In the rush of bringing plants over from my previous home and garnering plant starts from my gardening friends, it was easy to lose track of what was what. Actually I was surprised to only have 2 unidentified plants.
One plant in 3 different locations stymied all gardeners who visited, so I didn’t feel overly ignorant. I knew the plant was *quite* happy as it shot up to 5 foot, then 6 and even 7 foot tall without any sign of a bud by which to identify it. At long last buds formed, then took 2 full weeks to open enough to see some color and a pattern.
Behold the swamp sunflower, gloriously brightening 3 different beds. Of course, it needs to be relocated from the 3 current locations as six foot plus is a tad much for the front of a perennial bed.
